VERO BEACH — A bicyclist who was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Vero Beach Dec. 22 has died and has since been identified.
Valerie Jean Waters, 52, has been identified as the bicyclist by the Vero Beach Police Department. She died just before Midnight on Dec. 27 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.
The collision occurred shortly before midnight in the 1300 block of Old Dixie Hwy.
Authorities found the female bicyclist unconscious in the roadway near her red Roadmaster bike.
The woman was riding her bike northbound on Old Dixie Highway from 12th Street when she was struck by an unidentified vehicle.
