Ronald E. Hause, 83, Vero Beach

Ronald E. Hause, 83, of Vero Beach, passed away on Dec. 19, 2015, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian.

He is survived by his daughters Lynette (Albert) M. Taylor of Deltona and Denise H. (Chuck) Harvey of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, companion Yvonne Whalen of Vero Beach, brother Jimmy Henrich of Arizona, grandchildren Nicholas Cherry, Eric Cherry, Alexander Cherry, Matthew Brooks, and Chad Harvey, great-granddaughter Samantha Cherry and a brother-in-law Harold Shiffrar of Plant City.

He was preceded in death by his wife Claudette Hause and a sister Joyce Shiffrar.

Hause was born in Athol, Mass., to the late Fred and Mildred (Jillson) Hause. He was a longtime resident of Vero Beach, moving to Indian River County in the late 1950’s. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army while stationed in Germany. He had been a service technician for Spencer Pest Control prior to his retirement.

He had been a member of the Moose Lodge of Vero Beach, Vero Beach Veterans Club and the Primetimers at the Vero Beach Church of God.

He loved music but especially enjoyed Karaoke and playing piano. He was a faithful Red Sox fan, Patriot fan and Florida State fan. He was known for his fondness of puzzles his favorite being jigsaw puzzles.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016 at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a Prayer Service beginning at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
