Helen Sue Nagel, Vero Beach

Helen Sue Nagel, of Vero Beach, passed away on Dec. 19, 2015.

She is survived by her five children Bobbi Nagel Davis (Michael) of Tampa, Kelly Nagel Davis (Calvin Blythe) of Swan Quarter, N.C., Jill Nagel Hester of Williamsburg,Va., Heather Sue Nagel of Vero Beach, and Ted Alan Nagel (Carolyn Ann) of Brick, N.J.; and by 10 beloved grandchildren, Kathryn Helen Davis, Erika Elizabeth Nagel Horwitz, Sarah Michael Davis, William McMillan Hester, Jr., Alyson Kelly Nagel, Anne Blythe Davis, Georgia Fox Hester, Coleman Calvin Davis, John Robert Strauss and Lily Ann Strauss as well as by one beloved great-grandson, Ronan Elias Horwitz. She is also survived by four siblings, Joseph Fox (Jean), Mary Fox Hatton, Barbara Zuloff (Chuck), Ted Fox (Holly); and dear sisters-in-law Elsie Fox and Belinda Fox; and many nieces and nephews and their children.

She was preceded in death by siblings Kenneth Fox, Richard Fox, and John Fox.

Nagel was born in Plymouth, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Proctor L. and Kathryn C. Fox (Nordyke). She was raised in the Plymouth vicinity where she graduated from Plymouth High School. Helen was a homemaker and a Real Estate Broker in Ohio and later in Naples and Vero Beach, Florida.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother who had an enduring fondness for gardening and adventure. She shared her love of travel and enthusiasm for antiques and music with her children, family and friends. In her free time, she enjoyed baseball and puzzles. Her favorite teams included the Cleveland Indians and the Tampa Bay Rays.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McKee Botanical Gardens in Vero Beach or VNA Hospice of Indian River County.
