Dorothy R. Rorick, 92, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, 2015, at Brennity at Vero Beach.
She is survived by her sons Joseph Rorick of Bethel, Conn., John Rorick (Gerri) of Vero Beach, Paul Rorick (Cynthia) of Theresa, N.Y., Stephen Rorick (Loraine) of Canton, Conn., and Richard Rorick (Maria) of Vero Beach; daughters Diane Rorick Ceriello (Joseph) of Roslyn Heights, N.Y. and Carolyn Rorick Kyle (Peter) of Weedsport, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joseph A. Rorick and son, Thomas Rorick.
Rorick was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Florida 34 years ago from Stamford, Conn. She has lived in Vero Beach for 22 years coming from Boynton Beach, Fla.
She earned her teaching degree from Oneonta State Teachers College, New York.
Rorick was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach and the Notre Dame Club of Vero Beach.
She was a 20 year volunteer for the VNA Hidden Treasures Store. She also served many years as an officer on the Board of Directors for the Reef Ocean Resort.
Family was the center of Dorothy’s life and her top priority. For Dorothy, every day was a good day. Her children were wonderful, she would say.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach. Interment will follow in John’s Island Cemetery, Vero Beach.
