Hedwig “Hedy” L. Harrington, 86, of Sebastian, passed away on Dec. 19, 2015, at her home with her family by her side.
She is survived by her son John (Teresa) Harrington, daughters Diane (Ron) Eaker and Linda (Jim) Porter, eight grandchildren and one great-grand daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack after 51 happy years of marriage.
Harrington was born in Reading, Penn. When she was married, she lived in Pleasantville, N.Y. for 32 years.
She and her husband retired to Sebastian where she has been a resident for the past 25 years. She was an active community member and loved volunteering her time. She volunteered at Sebastian Medical Center, was a member of the Lions Club, Socialites and the Red Hats. She participated in many other organizations in Sebastian.
Harrington loved life, enjoyed being part of her community and made many wonderful friendships. She lived life to the fullest, smiled all the time and treated everyone with kindness. She spoke highly of her children and grandchildren and shared many stories with them of her blessed life in Sebastian.
