Albert L. VanDerveer, 87, Sebastian

Albert L. VanDerveer, 87, of Sebastian, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Dec. 15, 2015.

She is survived by his wife of five years, Barbara A. Andrews from Sebastian; his children Christopher VanDerveer, Alicia (Dave) Ashenfarb, Diane (Edward) Alvey and Christian Johnson; and eight grandchildren, Adam Ashenfarb, Aleyna Ashenfarb, Timothy Byrd, Ryan Alvey, Sydney Alvey, Melanie Byrd, Lindsay Alvey, and William Alvey.

He was preceded in death by is son James VanDerveer.

VanDerveer was born to the late Leemond VanDerveer and Mary Willer on Oct. 16, 1928 in Syracuse, N.Y. He graduated from Syracuse University earning a Bachelor’s Degree, which lead to his certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He was a licensed CPA in three state including New York, New Jersey, and Florida.

He was an active member of the Vero Beach Rotary Club, and a military veteran of the United States Army. His hobbies included skiing, fishing, and trading stocks.

He was a kind and gentle man and will be truly missed by all.
