Larry Dean Tarr, 58, Vero Beach

Larry Dean Tarr, 58, of Vero Beach, passed away.

Tarr was born in Springfield, Ill., on Sept. 8, 1957 to Gerald and Shirley Tarr.

He was raised with his five siblings: Gerry, Rod, Debbie, Annette, and Kathy. At an early age he met and decided to share his life with Susanna Stork Tarr. Together they grew their family to eventually include four children, one of which preceded them all in death, Allison, who is now joined by her father together in the afterlife.

The Tarr’s three living children are Christy, Jason, and Kate. Christy is married to Buffy and together they have two children, Hanah and Ethan. Kate is married to Alvaro and they are pregnant with Larry and Sue’s third grandchild. Jay has commitment issues.

Tarr was an extremely hardworking man throughout his life and eventually retired from the agriculture industry after 49 years where he started out “walking beans” to eventually running a heavy equipment division for a local agriculture company. He often talked about eventually returning to his roots in the mid-west where he was born and raised to rediscover his passion as a child of driving around the fields on tractors and enjoying what nature had to offer.

As a husband and father, Tarr was devoted and gentle and never once failed to provide for his family. A quiet individual with a kind soul, he touched the lives of everyone around him to a level that he never knew.

Services to honor the life of Larry will be held Friday, Dec. 18 at 4 p.m. at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach. Drinks and snacks will follow immediately after at the service. A guestbook can be signed at www.strunkfuneralhome.com.
