Barbara Ann Miller La Bella, 66, of Vero Beach, passed away on Dec. 8, 2015, at the Indian River Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband Dr. Arthur La Bella; daughters Annamarie (Mark) La Bella-Myers and Stephanie (Chris) Dappen of Vero Beach and Dr. Suzanne (Dr. Christopher) Thomas of Mesa, Ariz.; granddaughters Caitlyn Myers and Cheyenne Thomas; and brothers Dr. Michael Yorio of Vero Beach and Ralph (Christine) Yorio of Fayetteville, N.C.
She was born in Augusta, Ga., to the late Ercil D. and Anna Brogna Miller.
Following her marriage to her high school sweetheart, Dr. Arthur La Bella, they began a wonderful journey together that led them to Vero Beach in 1973, coming from Asbury Park, N.J.
She was a retired educator. She was a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio, received her Master’s in Administration and Specialist in Administration from Nova University.
She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church where she served on the St. Helen School Board and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and a former Union Representative for the Indian River County Teachers Union.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Helen Catholic School, 2050 Vero Beach, Avenue, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a Prayer Service beginning at 4 p.m. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 18, 2015 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
