Mulligan’s hosts event to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Dec. 8

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Indian River County and Mulligan’s Beach House Bar and Grill will sponsor the ninth annual “Margaritas and Mistletoe” on Tuesday, Dec. 8.

The celebration will feature passed hors d’oeuvres and a fancy dessert buffet plus two dollar beers, and four dollar margaritas from 5 to 8 p.m. Music will be provided by local artist M. J. Wicker.

The cost to join this popular holiday party is an unwrapped child’s Christmas gift valued at $15 or more. Gifts will be distributed to children being mentored by hundreds of volunteers in the Big Brothers Big Sisters education programs offered throughout Indian River County.

Donations of at least $15 will be just as warmly welcomed in place of an unwrapped gift.

Ever since the opening of Mulligan’s in Vero Beach, owner George Hart has held “Margaritas and Mistletoe” to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Indian River County throw a fabulous holiday party and enjoy the evening with friends, while at the same time make Christmas so much more meaningful for the more than 500 children the organization serves.

“At Mulligan’s we have the holiday spirit all year long,” Hart said. “Our specialty is creating memories and wonderful celebrations, so we decided to do what we do best—throw a fantastic party, and at the same time help the kids in our community.”

“Even though we continue to serve more kids each year, the need continues to grow and we have so many children on our waiting list to be matched with a mentor.” said Judi Miller, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Mulligan’s is located at the end of Beachland Boulevard overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

To learn more about Margaritas and Mistletoe or current mentoring opportunities contact Big Brothers Big Sisters at (772) 770-6000 or RSVP to events@bbbsbigs.org.

For those not able to attend the party, gifts may be dropped off at the Big Brothers Big Sisters office through Dec. 18. For many children, these gifts will be the only Christmas presents they receive. A child’s face lit with surprise and joy is a priceless gift you can give this holiday season.
