John Franke, 66, of Vero Beach, passed away on Nov. 24, 2015, at Lawnwood Medical Center.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Christine (Tina); son John (Karen) Franke; daughters Maria (Chris) Muth and Barbara (Greg) Dickey; brothers Anthony (Maureen) Franke and Emil Franke; grandchildren Ashley Franke, Dr. Aaron Franke, JC Muth, Mia Muth, Addison Muth, Emily Dickey, and Elizabeth Dickey.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Franke.
Franke was born April 3, 1949 in Jamaica, N.Y. and moved to Long Island, where he was the owner and operator of Wyandanch Engine Rebuilders. In 1985 he relocated to Vero Beach coming from Dix Hills, N.Y. From 1985 through 1998 he was a partner of Franke Brothers True Value Hardware in Sebastian and Vero Beach. He was a car enthusiast, and enjoyed the title of “Grandpa” to his seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Ft Pierce.
