Woman accused of having sex with minor in Vero Beach

VERO BEACH — A woman was arrested after her husband led authorities to a hotel where she was found in the company of a 17-year-old. She is accused of having sex with the minor.

Rebecca Trust, 38, of Port St. Lucie, now faces one felony charge of “unlawful sexual activity with certain minors,” according to the arrest report.

Her occupation is listed as a mental health therapist, but police determined the teen was not one of her patients.

Officers with the Vero Beach Police Department located Trust in a hotel room at Knights Inn in the 2000 block of US 1 around 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Trust’s husband told authorities his wife received a phone call earlier in the day and left the house. He tracked her phone to a restaurant parking lot and arrived to find her performing oral sex on a male in their family vehicle, according to the arrest affidavit.

Trust and the unnamed male sped away in the vehicle, but her husband found the car parked at Knights Inn and notified police, the report states.

Police located Trust and the 17-year-old together in a hotel room. According to the arrest affidavit, Trust told authorities she had been seeing the teen for about a week and that they did have sex together.

She was booked into the Indian River County Jail and released that evening on $10,000 bond.
