Margaret Klein Gavora, 92, of Vero Beach, passed away on Nov. 1, 2015 at her home.
She is survived by her daughters Marti Marie Leighton, Valerie Lee Van Benschoten; son-in-law James Van Benschoten; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Gavora; brothers Richard Klein and Frances Klein.
Gavora was born in Queens, N.Y. and lived in Nyack, N.Y. and Long Beach, Calif. coming from Stanfordville, N.Y. before her move to Vero Beach.
She was a volunteer for POW camps during WWII in New Jersey. She auditioned as a soprano at Carnegie Hall. She was a Tap instructor in Long Beach, Calif., and a real estate investor. She retired as an owner/administrator of a Community Residence for veterans, where she enjoyed eight years of work in Stanfordville, N.Y.
Gavora was a member of the Bridge Club, Veteran Association, Tap Dance Club, and Vocal Club. She attended school in Rockland County, N.Y.
