Joseph Paul Kazen Jr., 62, Vero Beach

Joseph “Joe” Paul Kazen Jr., 62, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Nov. 14, 2015.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Shannon (Masse); his sons Joey, Matt, and Chris; his mother Joan Kazen; his sisters Kathy (Richard) Lubin and Mary Jo Kazen Rutter; his brothers Michael (Terry) and Mark (Wendy); his granddaughter Briana; and nieces and nephews Ali, John Michael, Nicholas, Andrew, Kristen, Spencer (Rutter), Annie (Rutter), and Justin (Lubin).

He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Kazen.

Kazen was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and uncle.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1953 in Detroit, Mich., to Joseph and Joan Kazen. He attended St. Juliana in West Palm Beach where he served as an altar boy, graduated from Forest Hill High School and attended Palm Beach Community College. On April 17, 1990 he married his wife, best friend and soulmate Shannon in Lake Tahoe, Nev. He was managing partner at Bobby’s Restaurant in Vero Beach for 33 years.

Kazen loved life and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. He had a passion for baseball, golf, and spending family time with “my bride and my boys.” He greeted everyone he met with a warm smile, a firm handshake and a few kind words.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2085 Tallahassee Ave.,Vero Beach, Fl. 32960, Very Reverend Michael W. Edwards, V.F., officiating.

Interment will be private for the family at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach, Fla. A guest book is available at www.strunkfuneralhome.com.
