Genevieve J. Bradley, 85, of Vero Beach, passed away on No. 10, 2015.
She is survived by her husband Timothy Bradley Jr. of Vero Beach; son Edward Holmes (Patricia) of Vero Beach; daughters Tawny-Raquel Collins (Harry) of Gainesville, Fla., and Tenecia D. Bradley-Cousins (Carlos) of Aventura, Fla.; brother Norman Williams of West Palm Beach; sister Ernestine Williams of West Palm Beach; 19 grandchildren and host of great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth J. Holmes; daughter Carolyn F. Garvin; parents Agnes Lowry and Charles (Carlos) Williams; and brothers Louis Williams and Charles Williams.
Bradley was born Jan. 27, 1930 in West palm Beach and was a resident of Indian River County since August of 1963.
She was a graduate of Florida A&M University Class of 1963 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English.
She retired from the Indian River County School System in 1995 after three decades as an educator.
Bradley was a member of the Church of Christ, Gifford/Winter Beach where she supported her husband as a dutiful Minister’s wife, teaching the Young Adult Bible Classes, and serving as a Christian example to many.
Funeral services for Mrs. Genevieve J. Bradley are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. Services will be held at the Church of Christ (Vero Beach Congregation), 3306 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
Family and friends are encouraged to gather for a wake to be held at the Church of Christ (Gifford-Winter Beach Congregation), 6890 33rd Avenue, Winter Beach on Friday, Nov. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. A formal time of remembrance will begin promptly at 5:45 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Thomas-Powell Memorial Scholarship Foundation in the Memory of Genevieve J. Bradley.
