Carlyne Inez Jenkins, 88, of Vero Beach, passed away on Nov. 17, 2015 at her home with her family at her bedside.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia Mach and Debbie (Tony) Bledsoe and sons Doug Jenkins and Brian (Michele) Jenkins all of Vero Beach; brother Jim Jones of Palm City; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and her beloved cat Bobby.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Jenkins, sons Carl Curtis Jenkins and Gregory Allen Jenkins, daughter Billie Marie Jenkins and a sister Wildred Weatherington.
Jenkins was born in Swainsboro, Ga., and was a long time resident of Vero Beach where she lived since leaving her childhood home.
She had been the bakery manager at the Vero Beach High School before her retirement.
Jenkins was a member of the First Baptist Church, loved to make quilts for people, loved to cook and was excellent at it. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family and having everyone together. Family was her everything.
She was also a sports fan and enjoyed attending and watching on TV football, baseball and NASCAR Racing. She and her husband owned and operated Vero’s only race track from 1968 through 1974.
Jenkins gave infinite love and boundless strength. She had a wonderful smile and a laugh that could light up a room. She was our Matriarch.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a funeral service celebrating her life beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
