VNA extends “Shoo the Flu” clinics through Nov. 21

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The VNA’s “Shoo the Flu” public vaccination clinics are being extended until Saturday, Nov. 21.

Extended times and locations are as follows:

• Tuesday, Nov. 17 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hidden Treasures Vero Beach, 656 21st Street, Vero Beach 32960

• Thursday Nov. 19 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hidden Treasures Vero Beach, 656 21st Street, Vero Beach 32960

• Saturday, Nov. 21 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hidden Treasures Vero Beach, 656 21st Street, Vero Beach 32960

The VNA offers two types of flu vaccinations: a preservative-free high-dose vaccine and a preservative-free quadrivalent vaccine. The high-dose vaccine is only for those individuals who are 65 years or older and contain four times the amount of antigens.

The quadrivalent vaccine is for individuals 10 years or older and offers broader coverage than the regular flu shot. The pneumonia shot will also be offered at each VNA clinic. All VNA flu vaccines are manufactured in the United States.
