National Hunger, Homeless Awareness week events continue

The Hope for Families Center formerly known as The Homeless Family Center’s mission is to provide opportunities for homeless families to end homelessness by achieving self-sufficiency through education, living wages, and permanent housing. The organization invites the public to participate us in National Hunger and Homeless Awareness week (NHHAW Week), which started Nov. 14 and continues through Nov. 22.

Held each year the week before Thanksgiving, NHHAW week helps the community remember what we are thankful for. To share our compassions for what our less fortunate homeless neighbors face every day. Together we can work toward a world that ends hunger and homelessness one family, one child, one individual at a time. NHHAW week offers everyone to the opportunity to contribute to a national social movement.

The NHHAW committee has lots in store for you here in Vero Beach. All events are designed to raise awareness in our community through government proclamations. Agencies participating are Camp Haven, Harvest Food & Outreach, Womens Refuge, Habitat for Humanity, St. Vincent DePaul, Hope For Families Center (Homeless Family Center), VNA, Salvation Army, & Epic Missions.
