Roy Alan Folsom, 72, of Vero Beach, passed away on Nov. 9, 2015.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Gammell Folsom; daughter Cassie Hobbs; grandson Andrew Hobbs; son-in-law Tim Hobbs; and step-son Trent Herring.
Folsom was the only child of LeRoy Pierce and F. Elizabeth Harris Folsom, born Nov. 1, 1943.
He was a graduate of Vero Beach High school Class of 1961 and attended Indian River Community College. As a young man he was very active in the Jaycees.
Folsom loved fishing, golfing, aeronautics and gardening. His heirloom tomatoes will be missed by many. He was from one of the Pioneer families of Vero Beach, his mother being born on John’s Island.
He was co-owner of Another Man’s Treasure and Old Town Antiques. He worked for Piper Aircraft for 19 years. In 1996, he became manager of the Engineering Department of Cessna Aircraft in Columbus, Ga., and eventually retired from McCauley Propellers Systems a division of Textron in June of 2009.
After retirement, he and Brenda moved to the Mountains of North Carolina fulfilling their lifetime dream. Folsom will be missed for many things, his sense of humor most of all, he will be loved forever.
