Humane Society offers pet photos with Santa Nov. 13-14

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Humane Society announced that Santa Paws is stopping by the shelter for pet photos on Friday, Nov. 13 and Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The shelter is located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach. During Santa’s visit, animals and their human friends can have their photos snapped with the jolly man before he heads back to the North Pole.

“Indian River County pets hold a special place in my heart. Whether they’re from South County, Wabasso, Fellsmere or John’s Island, I love them all and can’t wait to see them again this year!” Santa Paws exclaimed in a text message sent from his snowy home.

In years past, Santa has met many of the community’s furry friends including dogs, cats, ferrets, lizards, pigs, rabbits – and even a few pet chickens. This year, photographer Earle Beasley will be on hand taking photos. For just $15, families can choose to have traditional pictures or may opt for candid, unconventional shots.

“Sometimes those impromptu photos are the best!” Santa explained, adding, “Photos of me with your pets make great gifts and can also be used for printing holiday cards.”

Santa and the Humane Society confirmed that proceeds from the event will benefit the less fortunate animals of Indian River County.

“For just $15, pets and their families will receive a lovely photo with me and will also be aiding animals at the shelter and in the community. It makes me so happy to know that we are all helping animals and people,” he said. The sitting fee includes both a print photo and a digital photo that will be sent by email to each pet parent.

Appointments are required since Santa wants to ensure he spends sufficient time with each pet and his or her human family members. To schedule an appointment to be photographed with Santa, please call Maria Ramirez at (772) 571-6401. Pet parents may pay by cash, credit or debit card at the door. The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the animals of Indian River County and is located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach.
