Historical Society hosts Harvest event at Hallstrom House Nov. 14

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Historical Society and the Hallstrom House are excited to announce another great event. The first Harvest Happening on the lovely historical homestead featuring craft and specialty vendors will take place Nov. 14.

The event will feature many local artisans bringing their best creations, and others sharing their amazing products. Vendors will be set up where once there was a very productive pineapple plantation and then citrus grove.

Bring a big appetite as barbecue plates will be available for $10 for adults and $5 for children, and homemade fall desserts will be offered at the bake sale. Enjoy a great meal under the shade of the old oak tree with friends and family.

Recipe books which will include many of these fall recipes will be on sale for $5 or free with a new membership. Show support of the Historical Society by becoming a member.

Those who have never visited the century-old homestead are in for a treat. There are many stories to be shared about the house and the former owners, the Hallstroms, on the tour. This event is free with a guided tour of the Hallstrom House for $5.

The event will take place at 1723 SW Old Dixie Highway (south of Oslo Road) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. No pets, please.
