UPDATE: Robbery suspect arrested in Vero Beach bank heist

VERO BEACH — The suspect in the Friday afternoon bank robbery has been arrested in South Carolina.

Tyler Topolski, 19, was arrested in cooperation with the Horry County Sheriff’s Office in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, according to Vero Beach Police. He is being held at their jail without bond pending extradition back to Florida.

A report came in around 2:30 p.m. Friday about a bank robbery at Florida Community Bank, 4000 20th St. in Vero. No weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported.

Helicopters are reportedly engaged in the search of a perimeter and K-9 officers have been deployed to aid in the search.

The description broadcast to officers over the police scanner was for a white male in his early 20s, with a goatee, last seen wearing a green shirt and khaki pants with a brown backpack.
