Molly Pitcher Buchholtz, 83, Vero Beach

Molly Pitcher Buchholtz, 83, of Vero Beach, passed away on Oct. 21, 2015.

She was the beloved wife of Paul J. Buchholtz for 64 years, the father to their four children: Michael G. Buchholtz of Santa Ana, Calif., Kim E. Wood (Jeffrey) of Vero Beach, Mary K. Coy and Lynne D. Fish both of Sun Prairie, Wis. She was a grandmother to four grandsons, three granddaughters and 13 great-grandchildren.

Buchholtz was born Nov. 7, 1931 to Ronald and Elizabeth Pitcher in Cumberland, Md., their second child. She was five years younger than her sister, Maryanne who passed away Jan. 23, 2015. She graduated from Hannah More Academy in Reistertown, Md. She then entered Nurses Training at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland.

She and Paul were married June 16, 1951 in Port Angeles, Wash. Paul was in the USAF at the time.

Buchholtz enjoyed many hobbies and was an avid golfer, winning two Ladies Club Champion Awards.

They moved to Vero Beach in 1982 and owned a gift shop on Cardinal Drive (“Initially Yours”) for several years. She was employed by Frances Brewster Shop for 13 years. After retirement she and Paul moved to Sun City West, Ariz., and enjoyed 16 wonderful, fun years playing a lot of golf and tennis, spending their summer months in Lake Tahoe. They moved back to Vero Beach in 2013 to be closer to family.
