Jesse D. Grogg, 83, of Sebastian, passed away on Oct. 14, 2015, at the Sebastian River Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ghislaine; his children Jacqueline (Ken) Copeland of Annapolis, Md., and Dee Ann Selby (whose husband Dwanye preceded him in death earlier this year) of Haskell, Okla.; and his grandchildren Crystal, Kyle, Loren, Lisa and Daniel; and his great-grandchild Travis. He is also survived by his only living brother Tom Grogg, his two brother-in-laws, Roger Lariviere (Carmelle), Serge Lariviere (Ghislaine) and many nieces and nephews throughout the United States and Canada.
Grogg was born in Jenks, Okla., the son of the late John William and Laura L Grogg. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his service in the Navy, Grogg became a Border Patrol Agent and then worked for The Department of Justice – Immigration and Naturalization Service, from which he retired in 1986.
His true passion in life was his family. He also greatly enjoyed hunting, horses, wood crafting and metal fabrication, competition shooting, and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2015 at Seawinds Funeral Home, Sebastian. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jesse’s life. In lieu of flowers please send donations to The American Heart Association or The American Lung Association.
