John Michael “Mike” McGee, 74, of Vero Beach, passed away on Oct. 6, 2015.
He is survived by his wife Harriette K. McGee of Vero Beach; his son John Michael McGee, Jr. of Hendersonville, N.C.; brothers Jim McGee of Hartsville, S.C. and Glenn McGee of Lookout Mountain, Tenn.; as well as stepchildren, step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
McGee was born in Hartsville, S.C. and moved to Vero Beach in 2000.
He was employed as General Manager of Packers Supply Company, now known as HESCO, in Fort Pierce before his retirement.
McGee was a kind and generous man who enjoyed dancing, golfing, fishing and hunting and was one of Bobby’s Restaurant regulars.
A celebration gathering honoring Mike’s life will take place to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to the South Carolina Flood Relief Fund.
Strunk Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
