Cultural Council partners with Masters of Music to enhance live music in Vero Beach

VERO BEACH — For the second season, the producers of Masters of Music will be presenting an on-going music series at The Emerson Center in Vero Beach. In doing so, they have joined forces with the Cultural Council of Indian River County to enhance awareness of the arts in the community.

“The Masters of Music Series is the only professional on-going series in Indian River County, and to my knowledge, that includes both of our bordering counties as well,” according to Rusty Young, Concert Promoter and President of MusicWorks, Inc. who co-produces the concert series along with Marty and Bev Paris of Paris Productions.

“Working with the Cultural Council of Indian River County has been an important step for the non-profit organizations, expanding our abilities to bring more awareness to live professional music in our city and county as well as to showcase the accomplishments of all of our organizations. I have always found that non-profits working together towards mutual goals is a win-win,” he added.

Barbara Hoffman, executive director of the Cultural Council is very pleased with the partnership. “The Cultural Council is complimented to be the non-profit partner of the Masters of Music Series and we plan to use our wide array of resources to help promote the concerts. We will set up a booth in the lobby and visit with attendees before each concert. This one-on-one awareness of what we do for the community is quite valuable for us,” she said

The other non-profit partnerships are with The Emerson Center and The Food Pantry of Indian River County. All have 501.C3 status.

For those in the community who are looking for some great professional music close to home, and an opportunity to support some local non-profits, The Masters of Music Series is definitely the place to start. The first concert of the season is a solo piano performance by Grammy Award winner George Winston to be held on Friday, Nov. 20.

The series performers include Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul & Mary fame) on Wednesday, Jan. 13, The McCartney Years (the premier Paul McCartney Tribute Band) on Thursday, Feb. 11 and the iconic Kingston Trio on Friday March 4.

Tickets for all four concerts are currently on sale by visiting www.TheEmersonCenter.org. Single tickets for the three series performers went on sale Sept. 14. Performances are sponsored in part by ABC Printing, CenterState Bank, Digg Gardens, East Coast Lumber, Indian River Magazine and New Vision Eye Center.
