VERO BEACH — The musical works of the Australian born songwriter and cabaret performer Peter Allen will be showcased in Theatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre’s newest production “Between the Moon & New York City” opening Sunday, Oct. 11 at the Quilted Giraffe Restaurant, Vero Beach.
Performances will continue October 18, 25, Nov. 1, 8, 15 and 22 with doors opening for dinner at 4:30 p.m. followed by the show at 6 p.m.
Veteran star Beth McKenzie-Shestak will headline the production that features musical director Gregory Harris and TGR’s newest member of the company, Brendan Wenger. Performing in true cabaret style, the trio will harmonize to such Peter Allen favorites as the Academy Award winning “Arthur’s Theme,” “Everything Old is New Again,” “Quiet Please, There’s A Lady on Stage,” “Don’t Cry Out Loud” and the ever popular “I Go to Rio.”
Designed to explore a variety of musical styles, “Between the Moon and New York City” celebrates many of the Allen cabaret hits that were performed to sold out houses at Radio City Music Hall.
The evening begins with Chef Kurt Runge’s three course gourmet dinner featuring a choice of carved tenderloin of beef or fresh seafood of the day. Salad and dessert is included along with coffee or iced tea. A la carte beer, wine and full cocktail service is available tableside throughout the evening. All-inclusive dinner theatre packages are $55 per person for dinner, show, tax and gratuity. Show only tickets, based on availability the day of performance are $30.
