John ‘Jack’ Banks, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sept. 29, 2015, at VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie Banks of Vero Beach; son John E. Banks, Jr. of Vero Beach; and a daughter, Jill (Cliff) Higgins of Macon, Ga.; and granddaughter Lauren Higgins of Athens, Ga.
Banks was born in Trenton, N.J. on June 10, 1928 and attended Peddie School Hightstown, N.J. and Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Penn. where he studied engineering. He was employed by Roebling Company as a sales engineer.
He relocated to Vero Beach in 1960 and became involved in the citrus industry, owning and operating his own business.
Banks was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
