Joan Eleanor Heede, 86, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sept. 8, 2015.
Our dear mother died with grace and grit on Sept. 8, with the kind ministrations of VNA Hospice House. Joan Eleanor Heede lived a full and wonderful life, and her kind soul enlivened by love for her children, her husband of 55 years Arne Heede, who preceded her in death, and for Mildred and her father Alf Knudtzon.
From Heede, her children learned to be strong, compassionate, forgiving, and patient, leavened with a broad streak of Norwegian stubbornness, and above all a serene love through all of life’s travails and adventures.
She opened her heart to everyone, and her friends and children will miss her.
She is survived by her daughter Christine, of Norwalk, Connecticut, and her son Richard, of Snowmass, Colo.
