Rita E. McGorry, 91, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully on Sept. 16, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Kelley (Gary) of Vero Beach; son James McGorry (Colleen), of Longmeadow, Mass.; sister Kathleen Lind of Springfield; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and her cousin, best friend and partner-in-crime Kathleen (Tat) Schoonover of Ludlow, Mass.
She was preceded in death by her husband Francis X. McGorry, daughter Carol Ann Hoarle, and brothers Francis and William Quinn.
Born in Manchester, N.H. to Walter and Jeannie (nee Collins) Quinn, she moved to Springfield, Mass. in 1945 to raise her family.
McGorry was employed for 15 years as a clerk at the Registry of Probate in Springfield, retiring in 1989.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach and had been a member of Holy Family Parish in Springfield, Mass.
McGorry always put her family first, and family was what she lived for. She was kind, generous, and the life of the party with her quick wit and outgoing personality, and she will be sadly missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
