William ‘Bill ‘ Dickenson, 98, Vero Beach

William “Bill” Dickenson, 98, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sept. 14, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Dickinson of Vero Beach; daughters Tressa Strouse (Gene) and Norma Jean Rich, both of Evansville; sons Darrell Dickinson (Wyota) of Vero Beach, Steve Dickinson (Jeanne) of Evansville and Glenn Dickinson of Holt, Fla.; sister Shirley Young of Vero Beach; and 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sara (Willingham) Dickinson.

Dickenson was born Aug. 16, 1917 in Palestine, Ill. to the late William J. and Tressa A. (Kincaid) Dickinson. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked at Keller Crescent.

He was a Boy Scout Leader, a member of Lessing Masonic Lodge and a former member of Central United Methodist Church.
