Janet Bacon Hallden, 75, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sept. 4, 2015, with her devoted husband of 51 years by her side, following a long illness.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Hallden Jr; son Kenneth Hallden, III of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter Holly (David) Dupont of Wethersfield, Conn.; two grandchildren, Abigail and Amy of Wethersfield; and brother, Lawrence (Christine) Bacon of Naples.
Born on July 2, 1940 to the late Robert and Dorothea Bacon, she was raised in West Hartford, Conn., living most of her life in Deep River, Conn., before retiring to Vero Beach.
Hallden was a graduate of Hall High School and attended the University of Wisconsin. Prior to retirement, she had served as the tax collector for the Town of Deep River for a period of time and had been employed as an office manager for a local furniture store and a retail music store.
She was an avid sports fan and golfer and was very proud of her hole in one.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the staff of Atlantic Healthcare in Vero Beach as well as all of the doctors, healthcare professionals and friends who cared for Janet during her illness over the last several years.
