Fellsmere man arrested, accused of using gun to threaten another

FELLSMERE — A Fellsmere man is in jail, accused of using a gun to threaten a nearby resident during an argument, according to authorities.

Three Fellsmere police officers and a Sheriff’s deputy responded to a home in the 1000 block of Booker Street over the weekend in reference to a disturbance involving a firearm.

During the investigation, authorities determined that the suspect pointed a gun at a man with whom he was having an argument.

They arrested 56-year-old Glenn Robert Lynn, of 1008 Vernon St., Fellsmere, who now faces a felony charge of aggravated assault. He is being held at the county jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

According to the Fellsmere Police Department, Lynn initially told authorities that the men had been arguing over money, which Lynn said was owed to him, possibly for the crack cocaine the victim had smoked with Lynn. However, it was determined that the argument ultimately was over the traded thefts of each other’s property.

The Fellsmere Police explained in its written statement that Lynn supposedly took the victim’s wallet and EBT card, which led to the victim allegedly taking Lynn’s cell phone. The taking of the phone is what prompted the argument and subsequent threats, according to police.

The sequence of events was confirmed by a witness – the victim’s mother – who told authorities that she saw Lynn pull a gun on her son in front of their house. She also said she feared for her safety and the safety of her three grandchildren who were inside the home at the time of the incident, according to police.

When the victim threatened to call police, Lynn left, according to the witness statements provided to authorities. However, Lynn returned shortly thereafter without the .38 special.

Authorities took Lynn into custody and recovered the Taurus .38 special from his home. The hammer was cocked and three rounds were loaded in the cylinder, including one aligned with the barrel, according to the Fellsmere Police Department.
