Arthur James Vogel, 82, of Sebastian, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 8, 2015.
Vogel was the son of Nedra (Vandervoort) and Arthur Jacob Vogel of Philadelphia, Penn., Crystal City, Va., and Rehobeth Beach, Del. He was happily married to Mary Vogel for 58 fulfilling years.
He was a loving father to four sons, he leaves behind two of them, Arthur C. (Deb) of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and James A. (Julie) of Sebastian. Two of his sons are deceased, Christopher J (Cindy) and Thomas E.
Vogel graduated from Mineola High School and served four years in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He later attended Syracuse University and the University of Virginia, majoring in accounting. He retired from Navy Federal Credit Union as Assistant Director of Operations. His position enabled him to travel to all parts of the world.
In addition to being a traveler, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and reader. Before retirement, he and Mary resided in Bowie, Md. Upon retiring, they relocated to Sebastian.
In addition to his wife and sons, he leaves behind a sister, Nedra Johnson (Jay), a brother, Richard (Mary), Cathy (wife to his deceased brother Alan), eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and Bogart and Bosley- his favorite labs.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
