Velda M. Clark, 90, of Sebastian, passed away peacefully on Aug. 31, 2015, after many health challenges that she never let get her down.
She is survived by her only daughter, Connie Jo; three granddaughters Misty, Brenda, and Dawn; five great-grandchildren Britney, Autumn, Breana, Kurt (Stephany), Taylor, Kira and Sklyer; four great-great-grandchildren Dayton, Clint, Rhett, and “Baby Sanders;” and three honorary family members Gina, Elaine, and Ashley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters as well as her only son, Ronnie.
Clark was born in Arcadia, Okla., to Tom and Stella Keasling, she was the youngest of five children.
Growing up she loved music and dancing, her parents owned the famous “Round Barn on Route 66” in Arcadia. Her dad called all the square dances and her mom made sandwiches to sell, she would tell us fondly. The kids slept up in the loft on cots after watching the dances. She and her dad were very close and the entire town called them by their nicknames “Big Braud” and “Little Braud” as Granny was with him everywhere he went.
She had an upbeat attitude on life and ability to get along with everyone. She never met a stranger, had a jolly laugh and enthusiasm to enjoy life and have a lot of fun.
A visitation was held Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at Seawinds Funeral Home, Sebastian, with Kim Tritt officiating. Burial was at Sebastian Cemetery.
