VERO BEACH — The Emerson Center’s Foyer Gallery of Art will feature paintings by Chris Domis from Sept. 1 through Oct. 31. Originally from just outside of Pittsburgh, Penn., Domis began exhibiting at the Norwin Art League located near his hometown. Since moving to Vero Beach from Georgia several years ago, he has been an active member of the Vero Beach Art Club and most recently joined the Sebastian River Art Club.
Domis’ work has been in many shows in Atlanta and Athens, Ga. He also participated in the yearly Metro Atlanta Pilot Club Art Exhibition where each year his works of art were chosen for a 10-day tour of galleries throughout Georgia. His work has also been in the juried art competitions at the Backus Museum of Art. Domis chooses to work in various media including watercolor, graphite and silverpoint, but currently concentrates more on oils, pen and ink, and scratchboard.
The Foyer Gallery of Art is located in the Emerson Center at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach, on the southeast corner of the intersection at 27th Avenue and 16th Street. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sundays 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. For information, call Foyer Gallery director Ellen Rantz at (772) 581-5904 or the Emerson Center at (772) 778-5249.
