Donna J. McKinny, of Vero Beach, passed away on Aug. 31, 2015, at VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen McKinny of Vero Beach; daughter-in-laws Candy McKinny of Vero Beach and Laura McKinny of Winston-Salem, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with two more arriving soon. She had many great friends, both here and beyond.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alexander McKinny, her beloved sons, Daniel G. McKinny and Thomas P. McKinny and sweet daughter, Mary Jo McKinny. Her sister Bea Hodapp and both brothers, Donald and Ronald also preceded her.
McKinny was born in the mid-west, but traveled the country and world with her husband of 61 years, Lt. Col. Alexander McKinny. She moved to Vero Beach in 1972 from San Antonio, Texas. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and also attended St. Helen’s Catholic Church.
At her request, there will be no Memorial. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested Mass cards be sent, in her name, to Holy Cross Catholic Church or St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Donations may be made to VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach.
