Running for children’s health at Love’s Miracle 5K

Fortunately for the 50 runners and walkers who participated in the Love’s Miracle Run 5K at Riverside Park Saturday morning, a light breeze replaced forecast rains.

Funds raised at the 5K will benefit UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville through the Children’s Miracle Network, to support research, training and equipment purchases, and also assist families whose children are suffering from cancer, traumatic injury, genetic disease, premature birth disorders and other childhood afflictions.

The event was sponsored by Love’s Travel Stops, which has raised more than $12 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide since 1999.
