Katheryn Sims Beindorf, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, at Kindred Hospital in Melbourne, Fla.
She is survived by her husband Jim Beindorf; her three living children Jim Beindorf, Jr., Andy Beindorf and Jennifer Beindorf; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her oldest child, Jackie Beindorf McCabe, five years ago.
Beindorf was born in Opelika, Alabama in 1927 and attended Auburn University where she met her future husband, Jim Beindorf, while standing in line to register for Fall classes. They were married in 1948 and later moved to Florida.
She was an artistic, intelligent, warm-hearted and loving woman who always gave of her time to the community. She was particularly known for her delicious southern cuisine, her beautiful flower arrangements and her artistic talent in fine art, designing homes and sense of style.
As an active member of the First Baptist Church, she regularly arranged the flower arrangements for the altar and also cooked meals for many church gatherings. She was an active member of the Vero Beach Garden Club and served in various leadership roles for the Rose Circle.
She was a loving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her and she will be sorely missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with a reception immediately following the service in the Family Life Center.
