INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Indian River County Supervisor of Elections, Leslie Swan, Elections Specialist, Michelle Fields and Technical Programs Coordinator, Stephanie Nelson were honored recently at the 77th Annual Conference of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA).
The Elections Office was presented with an Award of Distinction by FPRA’s State President, Rachel Smith, at the Golden Image Awards held on Aug. 11, 2015 in Orlando for their innovative and cost-effective Absentee Mailer Postcard which resolved multiple issues affecting the absentee ballot return rate during the 2014 General Elections.
Awards of Distinction are presented to entries that meet the standards of excellence set forth by the panel of judges. This year’s Golden Image Awards Judging was provided by judges of the highest caliber from the National Capitol Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, located in Fairfax, Va.
Throughout the years, the Golden Image Awards have become the standard of excellence in the state of Florida, recognizing the very best examples of innovation, planning, design and evaluation.
Founded in 1938, the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) is the oldest public relations organization in the United States.
Members represent a variety of different organizations including private and public corporations, government entities, not-for-profits, counseling firms and independent practitioners. As a statewide Association, FPRA’s more than 1,200 professional and student members comprise Florida’s 15 professional and 11 student chapters.
