Isabelle Margaret “Peggy” Anderson, 95, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Vero Beach, passed away on Aug. 7, 2015 at the Overland Court Generations (Memory Care) Facility.
She is survived by her two sons, John Robert (Joan) Anderson of Frisco, Texas and Kenneth James (Sharon) Anderson of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren, and five great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert Kenneth Anderson and her siblings Robert Black, James Black, and Marion Baker.
Anderson would have been 96-years-old on Aug. 21.
She was born in Indiana Harbor, Ind. on Aug. 21, 1919 and has been a resident of Boise, Idaho since 2007 after moving from Vero Beach (since 1980) and Toms River, N.J. before that.
Anderson graduated from Depew University in Green Castle, Ind., attended the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, and continued her studies in New York City where she sang professionally. She also taught music in Elementary Schools in Indiana and Jackson, N.J. for 16 years.
She was a church soloist all of her life and sung in many of the churches in Vero Beach. She was a past President of the Vero Beach Opera Guild, a member of the Community Church, United Church of Christ, and past President of the Women’s Fellowship there. She directed the Village Green Variety Band for 12 years, was a member of the Scottish Society, the Deborah Hospital Foundation, and the Village Green Home Owners Association.
A family memorial service will be held in Fort Pierce. Date and time has not yet been determined.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or The Women’s Fellowship of the Community Church, 1901 23rd Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.
