INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Gifford Youth Achievement Center (GYAC) is collecting supplies to help local youth get the 2015 school year off to a good start in August.
School supplies including paper and pencils, rulers, pens, folders and crayons, binders and construction paper, backpacks and calculators can be donated at GYAC. Supplies are also being collected at several locations in the community; Holy Cross Catholic Church, Northern Trust Bank, Disney Resort, Living Lord Lutheran Church, Piper Aircraft, Indian River County School District Transportation Department, Oculina Bank, Indian River Medical Center, and The Community Church.
Tax deductible cash donations are also gratefully accepted. The GYAC staff will shop for those needed items to fill the required school supply lists. Gifford Youth Achievement Center is located at 4875 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach. Donations are being accepted at GYAC on weekdays between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
School supplies will be distributed at the “Back to School Bash” on Aug. 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. Volunteers are needed on Friday Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to pack and distribute the supplies prior to the “August 8th Back to School Bash.” For additional information please contact: Mr. Freddie Woolfork, (772) 794-1005×234 or email [email protected].
