Day Trippin’ takes tour of Orlando mummy exhibition Aug. 12

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Day Trippin’ with Patti & Vicky LLC is heading to the Orlando Science Center & Museum on Wednesday, Aug. 12, to see the nationally recognized exhibition, “Mummies of the World.”

This exhibition includes a collection of more than 45 human and animal mummies, plus related artifacts from South America, Europe and ancient Egypt. Mummies of the World reveals how the scientific study of mummies provides a window into the lives of ancient people. The exhibit also explains what a mummy is, how mummification occurs through both intentional and natural processes, and how mummies come from all over the world.

Also included in the day at the museum is the option of attending one or two movies (each 50 minutes long) and admission to the first floor exhibits as well as to the Mummies of the World exhibit which occupies the entire second floor.

Cost is $80 per person and includes bus transportation to and from the Orlando Science Center, snacks on the bus and admission to the museum, exhibits and films. Lunch cost is not included. Participants may choose to dine in the Museum’s Subway Café or take a break and dine off campus at Firebird’s Wood Fired Grill which has a larger food selection.

The bus will depart on Aug. 12 at 8:30 a.m. from the IHOP Restaurant parking lot located on State Road 60 in Vero Beach (just east of I-95) and should return by 7 p.m.
