Authorities arrest attempted murder suspect in Vero Beach

VERO BEACH — Authorities have arrested a man in Vero Beach who faces charges of three counts of attempted murder, and sexual battery on a mentally disabled person among other charges. This was all related to an incident that occurred in Barefoot Bay in late July.

Joseph Beach, 32, of Sebastian, was arrested in the 400 block of 13th Pl. in Vero Beach, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s booking report. Beach was arrested Friday around 6 p.m. The other charges were kidnapping and two counts of aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm, ammo, or electric device by a convicted felon.

The arrest was made with the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Service and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office’s Gameover Task Force, according to the Brevard Sheriff’s facebook page.

Beach is currently being held at the Indian River County Jail waiting to be extradited to Brevard County.

Calls to Brevard County Sheriff’s Office seeking more information have not yet been returned.
