Jacqueline Sue Padgett, 72, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, July 26, 2015, after an extended fight against cancer.
She is survived by her husband Morris Padgett; sons Lawrence Padgett and Charles Padgett both of Vero Beach; daughter Susan Scarpa of Longwood, Fla.; four grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
Padgett was born Jan. 27, 1943 in Munice, Ind.
She is the daughter of Emma G. Cravens and John L. Martin, and sister of Cheryl M. White.
She graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1961, where she once served as Prom Queen.
In 1963, Padgett married the love of her life, Morris, and they celebrated their 52nd Wedding Anniversary this past June.
In addition to raising three children, she worked as an office assistant and bookkeeper for more than 45 years.
The family will greet friends from 3 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home, Vero Beach, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in memory of Jacqueline, to “Hospice House,” at VNA Hospice of IRC, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
