Alice Emma Stewart, 91, of Vero Beach, passed away on July 17, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William John Stewart, and brothers James and Albert Freeman.
She was the beloved mother of Patricia (Tracy) Pearson of Etna, Calif., and Ron Stewart of Encinitas, Calif.; adored grandmother of Steven Stewart Pearson; and cherished aunt of Mary and Albert Freeman.
Stewart was born Nov. 26, 1923 in Glasgow, Scotland, to the late Albert and Mary (McGary) Freeman. She came from Scotland in 1931 to New Jersey and retired to Stuart, Fla. in 1973 with her beloved husband, Bill. They moved to Vero Beach in 1990.
Stewart always loved the state of Florida. She was a homemaker who enjoyed swimming, playing bridge, square dancing and line dancing. She was a devout Catholic her whole life.

A Sanctuary Light will be on in her name from Aug. 1 through the 7th at Holy Cross Church, 500 Iris Lane, Vero Beach.
