INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The driver involved in a fatal car crash on 5th St. SW east of Oslo Middle School has been identified.
Florida Highway Patrol has identified the driver as Rosalyn Woodall, 66, of Vero Beach. The 2015 Kia Sorrento was found in a canal upside down. She was wearing a seat belt.
Woodall’s car was either parked or attempting to turn around on the southern grass of 5th Street SW, according to authorities. The dirt underneath the grass shoulder gave way from the weight of the vehicle, causing it to slide into the canal.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by Indian River County Fire Rescue.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
