Dorothy P. “Dottie” Thornton, 51, of Vero Beach, passed away on July 27, 2015, at VNA Hospice House.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Thornton of Vero Beach; son Cory Thornton of Vero Beach; mother Virginia Aldridge of Arkansas; father Jimmy Ives of Jacksonville; brothers Rusty Aldridge of Alabama, and Jimmy Aldridge of Vero Beach ; sister Goldie Blades of Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded by her son, Charlie Michael Thornton in 2003.
Thornton was born in Camp Lejeune, N.C. and lived in Vero Beach for numerous years.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Vero Beach.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
Services will be 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow at Winter Beach Cemetery, Winter Beach, Fla.
Strunk Funeral Home of Vero Beach is entrusted with arrangements.
