VERO BEACH — The Center for Spiritual Care is proud to host photographer Aric Attas in their gallery located at 1550 24th Street in the Arts District of Downtown Vero Beach. The opening reception for her “Seeking the Light’ show will be on Gallery Stroll First Friday Aug. 7, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Attas’ passion for photography first became apparent in the 7th grade while taking a photography class in summer school. She loved learning about f-stops, shutter speeds and how to work a camera.
As she took pictures she tried to imagine what the negative images looked like on the film inside the camera. The decisive moment came while watching her first print emerge from the developer under the amber glow of the darkroom safelight. It seemed like magic. A lifelong curiosity and passion for photography was born.
Since those days she has learned a lot about photography, art and life. She has shot many jobs as a freelance commercial photographer specializing in architectural, food and product photography. She has exhibited her fine art photography in national galleries and taught photography classes, History of Photography and web design to hundreds of students. She has even won some awards for her work along the way.
The Center for Spiritual Care’s Mission is: To provide individual and small group spiritual and holistic growth experiences leading to personal clarity, emotional empowerment, freedom and authenticity.
