Anthony Carpenter, of Vero Beach, passed away on July 12, 2015.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lilan; children Dean Hilary and Tracey; and four grandchildren.
Carpenter was born in Texas in 1932, the son of Dean Carpenter and Rosemary Hilton Carpenter.
He rose to Vice-President of Hilton International, which took the family all over the world, including St. Thomas, Istanbul and Sydney.
He and Lilan met at The Hotel School in Lausanne, Switzerland, where they embarked on a remarkable life. They returned to the U.S. from Sydney in 1982 to open the Vista Int’l division of Hilton Int’l, settling in Greenwich, Conn., until retirement when they moved permanently to Vero Beach.
The family will celebrate his life with a private gathering in the near future when his ashes will be spread. Tony will be deeply missed.
