VERO BEACH — Drivers are urged to avoid Aviation Boulevard near the railroad crossing if they are able, and to use caution if they must travel that route.
According to reports heard on the police scanner, the crossing arms are not functioning. It was not immediately clear what happened to the arms – they have been bound up or have been damaged or have been removed.
A train is due to come through town shortly, according to police scanner traffic. The railroad agency has been notified of the crossing.
